Carrie Ann Inaba Keynote Speaker for 2nd Annual Masters of Dance Seminar!

University College and Extension Services (UCES) at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) is proud to announce our 2^nd Annual Masters of Dance Seminar (MODS) to be held on Saturday, March 28, 2009 from 8:00am – 3:00pm in the CSULB Walter Pyramid with keynote speaker, Carrie Ann Inaba.

MODS brings together industry professional dancers and choreographers from Broadway, ballet, world-touring companies, music videos, film and television. The unique experience provides participants with an opportunity to see and hear, first hand, the vast industry opportunities available. At last years MODS Carrie Ann awarded three dance scholarships to K. McManus a high school senior who had only started dancing 3 years prior; C. Price a 13 year-old ballet pointe student and S. Beachley a junior high school 7^th grader who loves ballroom dancing.

By attending MODS's 2^nd annual event, participants have the opportunity to not only be exposed to a rich mix of information in a fun and professional environment, but to work with each master instructor in a group setting; learning steps, perfecting techniques, asking questions, and gaining knowledge of the history and nuance of each dance style. The day will culminate with Carrie Ann Inaba awarding more dance scholarships.

For the first time this year a Dance Showcase has been added following the seminar that will highlight various professional and non professional dance groups from industry, schools, colleges, and private studios. Carrie Ann Inaba Hosts the American Music Awards Pre-Show Live on ABC November 23rd!

Tune in on Sunday, November 23rd on ABC to watch Carrie Ann Inaba work the red carpet, hosting the "2008 American Music Awards Red Carpet Live!"  Carrie Ann will be hosting with "The Bachelor"/"The Bachelorette" host Chris Harrison and interviewing 2008 AMA performers and presenters (such as Miley Cyrus, Paris Hilton, Annie Lennox, Pink, Colbie Callat, Motley Crue, Taylor Swift and Jonas Brothers).  The "Red Carpet Live" will feature an exclusive early look at the night's top fashions and jewelry and sneak peeks at last minute preparations and rehearsals.  Pussycat Dolls' Nicole Scherzinger will be on hand as the Music Correspondent, "Project Runway" season four winner Christian Siriano will serve as the Fashion Correspondent and High School Musical's Corbin Bleu will be reporting the action from backstage.  "American Idol" winner David Cook will perform hits from the red carpet.  "2008 American Music Awards Red Carpet Live!" will broadcast on SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 23 (7:00-8:00 p.m., ET/PT) on ABC, immediately followed by the 36^th annual AMAs.

spcaLA is auctioning a pet bowl designed and autographed by Carrie Ann Inaba on eBay beginning Monday December 8^th thru December 15^th.

Dréa's Dream Event at Mattel Children's Hospital!!

This week Carrie Ann is reaching out in the dance community in a whole new way! On November 13^th, 2008 Carrie Ann will be participating in Dréa's Dream, a pediatric dance therapy program for children with cancer, funded by The Andréa Rizzo Foundation.   This event marks the beginning of an ongoing program for the young patients at Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA.

The Andréa Rizzo Foundation is the only non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization in the country whose sole mission is to provide dance/movement therapy to children with cancer and special education needs under the direction of registered dance therapists.

Carrie Ann Inaba believes strongly in the healing effects of dance therapy and has generously offered her support for this cause. She will attend the "kick-off" and participate in this very first dance therapy session on November 13th, bringing added smiles and excitement to the children and families at Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA!
